Sounds like you didn’t fully charge it when it was new. Your battery has been short cycled and probably is as good as it will get try running it down to about 10%and charge it for 24 hours.

It should take 4 hours to charge using a 5V, 1.5A USB charger. You can try resetting the speaker by following the steps below: 1. Power on your speaker. 2.
