My wife and I bike and hike together regularly. Would this speaker work to wear as a shoulder/armband speaker, so we can listen to the same music while working out? null

Yes it would be very good for hiking. Of course you would have to have your phone with you so you could stream off of it with the Bluetooth.

Might be a little bulky/heavy for that but it does have a strap on the back that will work with a belt for your waist. 

I just think it would get in the way of your workout strung around your arm or shoulder

Definitely it will work. It has a built-in strap at the back of it. So you can easily strap it to your bag or your bike’s handle. Also sounds amazing for its size.
