“Would this be a good speaker to attach to my surfboard? I'm looking for a speaker I can take out with me for at least a few hours and can handle surf that's 2' - 6' and last at least 3 hours.”

It's supposed to be water proof, not sure if it's water tight. I do attach mine to a mountain bike. Not sure if it would hold up to being submerged. Also, you'd have to strap it real good if you crash on the board, it may come loose.
