I had the same issue because our smart tv is a roku and you can only connect roku bluetooth speakers. I bought a wireless adapter (you plug it into the usb and also the headphone jack in the back of the tv) for about $15 on amazon to connect wireless to the tv. Sound is great! Hope this helps!
