“Are the headphones sound proof? (Meaning does it cancel outside noise)”

• No. Using these at the gym, I could hear conversations, voices, my feet pounding on the treadmill, music coming out of the gym speakers mashing with whatever was playing on my ipod. Not good. Best to use these in a gym that's relatively quiet.

• No. But Bose does have a nice line of noise cancelling buds and phones.

• They filter out some of the exterior noise but not all of it, and that is a good thing when you are running. Turn up the sound and little or no noise.
