Bose will be releasing a step-up version in Sept-2016 that will have an integrated heart-rate monitor-Google SoundSport Pulse Wireless.

No, the only way to connect these to a device is via bluetooth. However, there are some other wireless headphones that include a 3.5mm audio cable should their battery die. Considering the specific sports based application intended for these headphones I assume Bose left that option out as it would only increase the size of the headphones to accommodate the headphone jack when physical real estate is already pretty limited and has to account for battery and bluetooth / NFC transceiver as well.

THERE IS HOWEVER a Wireless Charging Case Bose sells as an accessory. Defiantly look into that.

Unfortunately, no, but the charging clip gives you an extra 4 hours of play time, so it makes it less likely to run out of battery.

These earbuds are wired, not bluetoth. You just plug them into the headphone-mic jack on your cell phone.
