• I don’t think so. Unless your tv has Bluetooth.

• I would imagine it depends on the TV and if it has Bluetooth. Search the menu on the TV to see if there's a Bluetooth option. I connect mine to my Apple TV device and once connected, all audio runs through my headphones while the audio from the television is muted.
