“I see a lot of negative complaints about how well they stand up to sweat, but many of them were before the stated "August 2016 update". Is the quality better on the units after the release? I have had 3 Jaybirds that dont last longer than one work out.”

But also note Bose always stands behind their products. I have owned tons of Bose. Bose will replace these headphones if any sweat damages these. Jaybirds I bought and returned because sound quality was all treble. You will love the rich sound of these
