Thats a great question. You can connect your DVD player to the Bose system and then connect the video out of the Bose system to your projector. In this case the ARC will not be a concern. ARC stands for Audio Return Channel, which allows audio from the video display (like a TV with Netflix built in) to send the audio back to the Bose system via the same HDMI cable that is being used for video.

The console process video and sound from my Blue Ray and CBL Box and sends only video to the TV. I have the coax input set-up for use with my smart TV apps (Netfilx). It only processes sound for this input.
