• depends how high your tv is. Below is recommended but if you are ok with the sound coming down it should be fine

• I am using mine below tv and sound, dialog Is much more cLear. This tv bar is not going to be louder than your tv but the sound will be much more direct. I believe above tv will work fine as well.
