Thank you for asking about the Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers! These speakers are engineered to pair with the SoundTouch 300 soundbar wirelessly over Bluetooth. They require connection to power at all times, and as they connect wirelessly, a separate receiver is not needed. They connect wireless to the SoundTouch 300 but do require to be plugged into an electrical outlet. These are rear speakers and do not product a high volume, they only add to the overall "surround sound". I have the SoundTouch 300, wireless Subwoofer and these Speakers and couldn't be happier with the quality of sound.
