The Bluetooth technology on this system is designed to receive Bluetooth signal from an audio device like a smartphone or tablet as opposed to transmitting a Bluetooth signal. For that reason, you'd want to connect the audio cable when using your headphones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this is the BIGGEST flaw of this unit, despite its high price and ability to play music streamed via bluetooth TO the Bose, you cannot streamto headphones or additional speakers via Bluetooth; this means you have to use their WIFI speakers to connect additional speakers to the system, and those do not work for all features. An additional $2 or so could have added that feature and I am tempted to do it myself. You can plug a bluetooth transmitter into the headphone jack but it will shut off the main speaker when you do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This system does have Bluetooth technology.
