I just drove through Nevada and this product worked great. Only had to set new stations a few times.

I believe you do not need to have a radio signal in order for the Roadtripper VOICE to work for you in your vehicle. Tune your radio to a station with static, then tune the transmitter to that same station and the static should go away and the device ready to use.
