This oven is 1800 watts. At 1800 watts, the current required for a 120 V circuit would be 15 amps. Recommended that on a circuit no more than 80% of a circuit should be utilized. So.... 20 amp circuit x 0.8 = 16 amps. You need a circuit with probably 20 amps. Now other things can be used on the circuit but not necessarily all at the same time. Hope this helps.

We have this oven and I didn’t realize until today that when the electrician wired our remodeled kitchen, he wired the outlet used for our Breville to the same circuit as the outlet used by our Cuisinart coffee maker. Simple math will providethe answer. Ours was wired to a 20 amp breaker, meaning that maximum current permitted on that circuit is 20 amperes. The Breville 800xl draws 15 amps when running on high (toasting or heating up initially). That leaves 5 amps to spare before the circuit is overloaded. Our coffee maker draws 9 amps, so running the two as we did today simultaneously, resulted in a 4 amp overload, and the circuit breaker tripped. It hadn’t happened before as we most often make coffee when first waking and then make toast or bake, later in the am. Small appliances like a hand mixer or small food chopper are ok because they typically draw only a few amps. Hope this helps.
