Having had multiple different typical toasters throughout the years, as well as a handful of different toaster ovens - most of the previous toaster ovens worked as toasters, but not usually too well, and I would say did take much longer than a dedicated toaster. But this Breville oven toasts exceptionally well and is certainly a good substitute. It honestly might take slightly longer than some dedicated toasters, but it certainly does a quicker and better job than any toaster oven I've had before.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A “Medium” toast for two slices of bread takes around 4 minutes. The benefit of using this as a toaster is you can control the settings really easily and see if it’s toasted to your liking through the glass window. Also you could probably lay about 8 slices of bread on the grate if you really wanted to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I actually like the toaster oven better than my toaster for toasting bread. The oven handles slices of the home made bread I make, odd shapes and toasts sandwiches that the toaster could not handle. Since I never timed the toaster I can't be precise but it doesn't seem like it takes any longer in the toaster oven.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Breville® BOV845 Smart Oven® Pro does have a TOAST function similar to that of a toaster.
