While I can't compare the models, I can tell you that I this model bread toasts evenly and in what I consider a reasonable time. We have not had this oven long so I don't know if it that will change over time.

Please try again later.I can't speak to the performance of the older model, but this model does a great job toasting all kinds of breads, from ordinary white bread to thicker slices of homemade bread to bagels to croissants (use the lowest rack position for those). I've had good results using the built-in toast and bagel settings, as well as the generic bake setting.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The new toaster oven is awesome. I gave my old one to my daughter so I could get a new one. There is a crumb tray which adds to easy cleaning but I think it helps to make the oven more powerful. EXAMPLE: Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits took about 23 minutes in the old one, the new one takes 14-16 minutes depending on how crisp you like the crust.
