“If I am only going to print from my phone (and I don't have a hotspot) and my only source of internet access is from my phone and I don't have a wireless router am I going to be able to air drop and print or is it a MUST that you have to be on a wireless.”

You can always plug this printer in via the usb connection to a computer or other device. To be able to print from your phone though without wireless, needs a work around. I suggest hooking up a router and naming the network “printer,” or something so you know it does not have any internet behind it. This will allow you to join the network with your phone and print.

The Brother HL-L2360DW has Apple and Android apps that allow you to print over WiFi. You can also use Apple Air Print, Google Cloud Print or WiFi Direct.
