• You can use 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless secure connection to your WIFI router. Fiber or copper to the Internet doesn't matter. I have mine going to an ASUS router on 2.4 GHz band, works flawlessly from PC, tablets and phone in MS, Apple and Android environments. Every external WIFI option is covered by this Brother Model.

• The standard specification for Dual Band routers allow devices connected to different bands (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) to communicate. Your computer can be connected to the 5 GHz band network and be able to print or scan (depending on your machine's specifications), to the Brother machine connected to the 2.4 GHz band. Your Brother HLL2390DW machine will only connect to the 2.4 GHz wireless band. The Brother machine will not "see" or connect to the 5 GHz band of your router.
