• Yes, definitely scans in color, and it's actually quite good. It defaults to 600 dpi, but can go a lot higher if you plan on printing out on high-quality photo paper. BTW: My HL-L2395DW had a serious banding problem across the background of all my prints, but the scans were quite nice.

• The question was if it will SCAN in color.....the information about the printer indicates that it WILL scan in color, even though it prints only in Black & White.
