Blue Tooth is a protocol between two devices, like a mouse and a computer or a computer and speakers or a cell phone and speakers. When the two devices are locked-in together, they are called "paired." WiFi is a network that is usually present in a home, a business, a sporting stadium, or a Starbucks. The network lets multiple devices interact with each other and, especially, the Internet. W WiFi network typically has a wire from outside connected to a modem and the modem in turn is connected to a router. The router(s) propagates the WiFi radio signals that allow your devices to communicate with each other. I suspect what you want is a WiFi printer, but you need a WiFi network in your environment (home) for the WiFi feature to work. If you access the Internet wirelessly in your home, I suspect you have such a network in place. If so, the network will have a password that you will need to bring the printer into the network when you set it up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are two different wireless protocols. Bluetooth is low energy and usually short range broadcast technology that connects lots of different devices from point-to-point (like your smart phone, or even your earphones). Where as a WiFi connection is a more powerful and larger range broadcasted signal that create a network that is usually password protected and might include your PC, smart TV, and in this case, your printer. You generally have to grant access to this network as it will broadcast an identity (name or SSID) that has to be used in conjunction with a password. Once you join the network, other resources might be available as well.(scanners, printers, TV or other computers, depending on the rights you have as a user on the network. In short using Bluetooth, you can connect to one device at a time, with a WiFi network you can connect to many devices also on the network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Blue tooth connects directly to your device, where WIfI uses your homes router to connect the printer so anyone that can use your WIfi can use the printer.
