Nothing exits out of the back. The tray is on the bottom for paper or envelopes and labels can be fed in from the front and end up top, accessible from the front.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No they do not exit out the back but in the front. However, you do need to leave some room between the printer and the wall in order to be able to open up the top cover.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to the instruction manual on line, "yes". Check the Index for loading paper starting on page 23. I think it has to do with some envelopes being thick and could cause paper jams. Opening the back allows the envelope to pass through without bending. As mentioned earlier, the online manual goes into great detail of how to use all the the printer's functions and, if necessary, how to troubleshoot problems.
