For thickness -- I can't seem to find specific thickness measurements anywhere, but I've cut file folders and the cardboard backing of memo pads with the blade that is included, if that helps. For cutting the PDF from, Yes, sort of. You can print the template, then scan it with the machine and it will be able to cut it that way. Once you've scanned it, you can store the scan on the machine to cut more pieces. Scanning to cut works best with simple shapes with a lot of contrast or bold outlines.
