• Yes you can use without the computer & it has a USB port. I’m not sure about the activation card because I didn’t purchase one.

• Yes you can. You can either put files on a USB stick or hook up a cord to your laptop. I've used both. The activation card is if you want to hook up wirelessly to send files. There are lots of tutorials online that are helpful.
