I would say check the date it was manufactured. based on the creation it may not be practical to keep it. A great example is Hewlett Packard only has parts for a maximum of 5 years so after that it becomes a treasure hunt to find parts etc. Also again check the packaging for the identified printers for proper cartridges for it.

If not go to your nearest Best Buy with the name, model number and serial number of the printer for proper needed equipment. Ask them the usage and expiration on the equipment as well. Their sales people and the Geek Squad technicians are most helpful.

I have ordered all from Best Buy with in-store pickup. The black is always in stock while the colors are shipped to the store in 3-5 days, always quicker than they stated.
