• If the Brother website says it will fit — you can trust the site to be providing accurate information. IF the cartridge is NOT listed it will not fit AND actually work! My guess is that using the wrong cartridge in your machine will seriously mess it up in peculiar ways. It simply isn’t worth the risk. Take it back to where you got it, and get the correct replacement cartridge. These machines are complicated!!! Gears in the wrong place will not mesh with the gears inside your machine. So there is no knowing in advance how much damage will be done trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The cartridge is rectangular and the gears are round. The wrong cartridge will not have all the gears in the right places for everything to work CORRECTLY.
