Your Brother MFC-J497DW printer will perform maintenance purges of the print head at regular intervals. The cleaning is to ensure consistent print quality and prevent damage to the print head. These purges remove any air or debris that may have gotten into the print head manifold. The machine will use the minimum amount of ink necessary to perform this operation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The longest I've gone without printing so far has been one week, and it printed just fine after that period of time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately no. Just like all printers every color slowly evaporates when not used. I print in black/red and the other colors last about 10monts then need replacing. I keep my printer in a hot work truck so home use my last about a year. The xl black lasts me about 2monts with heavy use.
