Our Speed Brew models have an 800W heater in them, but it is not on all the time. It only comes on to recover the tank temperature after brewing. Once that tank is back to temperature, the 800W heater won’t turn back on until you brew again. So, what keeps the tank at temperature in between brews so it is ready all the time? There is a 34 Watt blanket warmer attached to the tank. It is constantly on, and maintains the tank at desired brewing temperature so you are ready to go any time. But, it uses a fraction of the power that the 800W heater uses. The only other energy using device in a Speed Brew is the decanter warmer.
