Hello Granny - Thank you for reaching out about this gorgeous refrigerator. Not only is the fresh food section large and beautiful, it is also very durable. The back is not easily broken, however, we do recommend storing items at least one inch away from the back and sides to provide proper air flow and cooling. Stay safe and keep in touch! - John@CAFE
