“What kind of ice does the icemaker produce? Is it the traditional half moon shape? (I hope not.) Also, I have read comments about the crushed ice being like shaved ice. Is this true? Could you include photos of both types? Thank you.”

They are small half moons. The crushed ice is not shaved looking. This is a very nice looking and functional fridge. I always get complements on it. I wouldn’t let the ice shape deter you from buying it. The auto fill water feature is a lot more convenient than I originally thought. I just thought it was a gimmick but I use it all the time and it’s great.

Model CVE28DM5NS5 produces crescent shaped ice that are 2-1/2" long x 3/4" high x 3/4" thick. When crushed ice is selected, these cubes are broken down in to ice chips, not shaved ice.
