“Which burner/burners are supposed to have the fast boil feature? I tried boiling 1 qt of water using the middle, largest burner and it took over 8 minutes to start seeing little bubbles at the bottom of the pan.”

Hello - Thanks for reaching out. The 11" induction element located in the center can boil a quart of water in 101 seconds. Please make sure that you're using the pans that are recommended for induction, that have flat bottoms and match the size of the surface element.
