I bought one just before Christmas as a gift. I haven't heard a report back. That should not happen so see if you can get a replacement. Teflon is not a recommended health supplement so hold off using it. I would definitely try to contact the manufacturer. Google them for an 800 number. Best Buy will have a record on their files if you used their charge card. You might look up the model number and see if it's still on the market and if so, check it out for warranty information. I reached out to the manufacturer and I’m please to say they were easy to work with and are currently sending me a new replacement pot (scheduled to be delivered tomorrow:) I’m so thankful because as I originally noted I love this slow cooker.
