Can this be placed/used safely under a cabinet? null

Yes! Ours is on our counter under the spice cabinet, next to the stove, and we use it several times a week with no problem. It doesn't get as hot on the outside as you'd think.

As long as you have at least 6 inches of space on both sides and the top. The unit has built in spacers (inch and a half) on the back.
