The female part of the buckle on the strap is metal. The plastic male piece can be purchased on Amazon from a variety of vendors. Just measure to make sure you order the correct size.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not really know but I would guess that you could contact the manufacture and maybe they can help you out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think we are out of luck. I have the same issue, why would Canon make those out of metal? Rather dumb in my opinion we are just tempting fate. All we need is to have one of those buckles slams into the glass of our lenses or any of our photo equipment. What I have been thinking about is to buy a bicycle inner tube cut it to length and cover the silly shinny buckles. That wouldn't look too bad and it would be tight enough to stretch over the buckle and still be flexible to squeeze the sides to release the buckle. Maybe a cheap 10 speed inner tube. I know that's not what you want but it's just a thought. I plan on doing that with mine, just haven't gotten around to try it out. It's just a band aid good luck.
