The canon EF mounts can be used on crop sensor camera (EFs mount). so you can use all EF lenses on EFs mounts, and not the other way round. However, when you place an EF lens on a crop sensor camera you won't be able to get the full benefit of that lens. And that's because of the size of the sensor on APSC cameras. Also don't forget that a 24-70 acts like a 38-112 mm due to the 1.6 crop factor. This lens if a constant F4 with Image stabilizer, but the 2.8 doesn't come with IS. That's why I think this is a better lens both from the price and the stabilization points of view. I hope this helps.
