This cannot weigh 22 pounds as stated in specs null

No, it absolutely does not weigh 22lbs, most likely it is 22oz at the most. It is one of the lighter L lenses that I own. Really like it.

No, it doesn't weigh anywhere near that. Best Buy lists several lenses at many times their actual weight. Look at the F2 version and use that weight.

I purchased this lens not long ago and I am very happy, based upon the specs provided on other sites I believe the weight is about 1.35 pounds.

Nah, that's not even close. The lens weighs around 1.5 pounds, if even. Not sure where you got 22 pounds from.

No, not even close :-) According to Canon's specs it is 640 grams or roughly 1.4 pounds. I would say that's accurate.
