I have found that the Canon Rebel T5 takes very good shots of flowers. I use the 75-300 telephoto and come away from the flower so the lens can focus on the flower. With the flower in focus, you can crop the picture to what you want and go from there. I would also try using a polarizing filter to enhance the colors of the different parts of the flower. You can also attach a macro lens to the camera to stay upclose and personal and use a flash if it's a windy day to stop the motion.

Don't get me wrong, the lens is just fine (high quality), but just like with anything, you're specializing in a very narrow field of view, so I suggest a close up lens or filters (a macro lens is better).
