I wondered the same thing and read on a help post they don’t provide a cord because they assume people will have one already (from replacing a printer). I don’t know much about a Mac but I would have to buy a USB cord, but I use wireless.

I set this printer up, out of the box, followed the instructions for installing the printer drivers from Canon's website for a Mac and I could print, from both Macs. However, the connection is flaky. I go back next day and the WiFi or something is not connecting and I get message "Cannot find computer" when I send to print, but yet the printer is bouncing on the Dock Tool Bar. I have reinstalled the drivers from Canon in cycles because this is an ongoing thing. I really don't know how to solve this problem.
