*******THE ANSWER IS NO****. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A MONOCHROME PRINTER, LIKE I ALMOST DID. SEE MY ANSWER TO THE FIRST QUESTION ON PAGE 1 OF QUESTIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT. I BOUGHT THIS UNIT, STILL HAVE IT, RUN BLK/WHT PRINT WHEN COLOR GOES DRY (FOR YEARS); I.E.,.CANON MB2720 I AM NOT AN EXPERT, BUT I COMMENT ON THINGS I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE, OR BASED ON PRINT/ORAL COMMUNICATION FROM SUPPORT PERSONNEL OF THE COMPANY MAKING THE PRODUCT. I KNOW THIS IS AN OLD POST, BUT MAYBE SOMEONE LIKE ME LOOKING FOR INFO ON OLDER PRODUCTS WILL SEE THIS AND BE HELPED.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you will have to replace all the inks even though you are planing to print only Black & White. Same issue I am having now. I am looking to buy only black and white printer as an replacement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you never use color ink then you won't have to replace the color cartridges, only the black. I would suggest buying a monochrome printer if you only want to print black ink. Then you will not need to worry about color cartidges.
