no, need to use 281
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your printer probably won't recognize the 251s, as it's expecting 281s. So even if they physically fit (which is unlikely) your printer would still report that it doesn't have ink.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, I had the same problem when my 12-yr-old Canon gave up the ghost. You need to get the 281. If you don't, you will cause all sorts of problems - one being the 251's would probably not fit - possibly if you forced it to, but that would also screw the printer up for ink coming out, etc. I have never used 251 before. I do use the 280 and 281 on my Canon, though. I can tell you that the best and least expensive is from Best Buy, online, with a coupon they offer if available. Way cheeper than Walmart or any of the Office Supply stores. Good luck. (Ask them NOT to leave it out where anyone walking by can steal it. I think that is what happened to 1/2 my last order because they sent the 2 packets of ink in 2 SEPARATE boxes and I think the second one was stolen because it was just left in a public hallway at my door. One arrived in a small box but the other small box never made it to me. By the way. I got my Canon from Best Buy, too, and it is such a trooper for all the stuff I copy every day. It's 7-8 years old now and, though Best Buy stands by their products, never have needed anything but more ink cartridges (;o){
