• Yes, it can be auto-on and it also shuts itself off too (you can set the time, as short as 15 minutes and as long as an hour or stays on forever.) I installed mine at first via USB and switched to wireless for others to use (at home). It wakes up automatically when a page is sent to it.

• Not that I'm aware of, it has a standard power button and while you can print via Wi-Fi I don't believe the printer has a remote option.

• If you go to the admin web page: Device Settings->Energy Saving Settings->Auto Power On I just disabled the Auto power off feature, found in the same menu. I hope this helps.

• If it is connected wirelessly, it turns on when you click "print". Turns off after so many minutes of idle. Don't know about USB connection.

• No, I have to turn the printer on at the printer. Once it's on, I can send print jobs directly to the printer via wifi.
