As you are looking at the front of the printer, it is on the back, upper left-hand side. It is for a USB-B cable. You have to have a USB (for computer) to USB-B (for printer) cable. The USB-B end is kind of square-ish. Where the cable plugs in is kind of recessed and the cable has to go in at just the right angle. Took me a bit to figure out just how to insert it, but once you do, it's no big deal. It is the grey cable in the picture.
