I've had the printer for a few months. I printed heavily at first (catching up after lacking a full-color printer), more or less every day or two. Since then I've slowed down to using it whenever necessary, which can sometimes be a good week or two between prints, and I have had no problem with the ink drying out. Neither have there been any problems with the print quality falling off due to lack of use. Honestly, so far at least, it's been a big step up for me from the standard cartridge-style of printers (of which I've had a few).
