“I returned this cannon printer . When using the feeder to scan , vertical black lines would be on paper . 2 months old , BB is sending me another printer. What could have caused these black lines to appear. Using glass no problems Thanks”

It is very likely because of the printer head for black ink is defective since the lines are black and are not in color.
