It is compatible with the laptop, and it is relatively easy to install. There is no "display" or screen to see your configuration options (as seen on more expensive printers) which was the "trickiest" part for me. Also if you are a hotel, AirBnb or any place where you do not have access to the 5GHz version or direct connection to the modem (for internet) there will be issues during set up (the yellow error light will flash on the printer, and your laptop will not connect to the printer, even if both are connected to the Wi-Fi). I had to look-up a YouTube Troubleshooting video to realize this was the issue. The remedy was to simply connect my laptop and printer to my cell phones' mobile hotspot, and then it worked right away. Once set up the printer is excellent with amazing print quality, especially for the affordable price. Hope this helps!
