“This printer includes a CD-rom, does this mean I need to insert a cd to a computer to install a software or just to make printer working? I want to print from my phone or chromebook which dont have hard disk so what purpose will that CD-rom have?”

You can download all the software at the canon website. I believe that's in the quick set up guide
