“I have checked Canon and various websites on line to find out how to scan. Nothing I have seen directs me on setting up the scanner. Who do I contact to help.”

In the app store on your phone look up canon printer. You can scan from your phone. On the computer, go to your system's app store and look for canon smartconnect. On both apps, you will have to connect your printer via wifi, and then you can scan directly to either device (the pic only says offline because the printer is turned off)
