Do I need a computer to set up. null

It has app service, and I found that out because I needed to scan, but it won't scan without the app. Canon's website states you can do everything from the app. I don't know, I hate apps for things I have in front of me that should have buttons and instructions----oh yeah, it actually does!!!! I'm all thumbs at times with technology, but this little CANON printer was almost plug and play, it was THAT simple to set up and use. But CANON has ALWAYS been user-friendly, so I remain faithful, and with more reasons they always give us too!

No the directions guided me to the app. It was a simple follow step by step.
