YES and NO. The Canon PIXMA TR8520 will scan a multiple sheet document ejecting the sheets of the document into a holding bin. It will then display a message that you must rotate and re-insert the original document into the ADF. It will then scan the back sides and print the document based on your one-sided vs. two-sided printing options.

My old Canon PIXMA MX922 was full automatic unlike the TR8520.

YES (scan double-sided) and NO (automatically). The Canon PIXMA TR8520 ink jet printer requires some manual intervention. It copies the first side of all pages of a document ejecting the originals into a tray. Then you must rotate the ejected pages and re-insert the stack of sheets whereupon it completes the task.

By contrast, my Canon MX922 was fully automatic.
