“MX922 died and I would like something as close to it as possible without stepping down in quality. Is the TR8520 an exact replacement or what would be closest on moving up?”

I had the same problem. Really liked the 922. This is a reasonable replacement. Not as versatile but still a good replacement and you can't beat the price.
