Yes, this model allows you to print without color cartridges.

THE TECH QUICKLY RAN THROUGH HOW TO USE THE FAX. ...I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO USE IT. YESTERDAY I HAD TO GO TO STAPLES AND HAVE IT FAXED FOR ME. I TOLD THE TECH TO USE MY CELL PHONE TO PRINT. HE DIDN'T DO IT ... HE USED OUR HOME PHONE WHICH WE NEVER USE..WE KEEP IT FOR ROBO AND TELEMARKETS....THEN WE DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM ON OUR CELL PHONES. SO..IT HAS BEEN A DISASTER.
